Healthcare plans often cover some costs associated with eye examination and eyeglasses, but please check the details of your insurance plan before your visit. We will help as much as we can to guide you through the process, but we are rarely able to inform our patients about the coverage they have because our access to the that information is limited.
We will likely be able to bill directly to your insurance company for your eye examination and eyewear. Our most common insurers are Pacific Blue Cross, Sun Life, Canada Life, Green Shield, and Manulife.
Additionally, Pacific Blue Cross administers partial coverage for examinations and spectacles for those on government disability and social assistance on approval. We welcome members of The Canadian Forces, RCMP, and Veterans. We can submit claims through Medavie Blue Cross (a requisition for current CF members is required from CFB Comox Health Services).
We also submit claims to the First Nations Health Authority on approval.
